Program & Application

Operation HOPE – North County provides a safe 90-day temporary shelter in Vista, CA for single women and families with children.

  • Pre-Screening: Complete our quick form online or by phone.

  • Review: Our team reviews your eligibility and bed availability.

  • Intake & Drug Test: Eligible applicants are scheduled for a full intake. A clean drug test is required upon admission (no medical marijuana).

Admission Requirements

  • Eligibility: Single women, or single parents/couples with children (no single adult men without children).

  • ID & Background: Photo ID required. No registered sex offenders.

  • Sobriety: Must test negative for drugs and alcohol.

  • Schedule & Rules: 5:15 PM daily curfew; attendance at evening classes (Mon–Thu) and weekly case management meetings is mandatory.

  • Family: Children must be enrolled in school or daycare within two weeks (CA vaccine guidelines apply).

  • Program Goals: Must commit to finding employment, saving 30% of income, completing daily chores, and following shelter rules.

Wait List

If you are eligible but no beds are currently available, staff will place you on the Operation Hope – North County Wait List.
